Trinity were narrowly beaten 1-0 at leaders Salford City, but the manager said that game would not define their season.

He said: “It is where we are after 42 games that counts. We will remain positive.

“We were not out of our depth. If we can do that to the top of the league (side), surely we can do it against anyone else.

“Confidence is still high. Team spirit is superb and it is about putting things into perspective.

“It is very easy to let your chin go down (when things go against you), but I can’t say that about our players.

“I am really proud of them for the way they are approaching each game.”
