A 150ft-long runway made from artificial grass has been installed at RAF Scampton for a new exhibition marking 100 years of the UK’s aerial force.

Artificial grass supplier LazyLawn® also installed a red carpet as part of the event, which welcomed guests at its official opening on April 5.

The exhibition, Lincolnshire: Bastion in the Air, has been installed in the Dambusters hangar and features the recreation of part of a First World War airfield in France, including three replica aircraft.

LazyLawn® installed 600m2 of its green ‘Fresh’ grass to form the runway, as well as approximately 120m2 of red carpet.

Peter Footitt, Production Director at LazyLawn®, said: “We are proud to be involved in such an important event for the RAF. The exhibition looks very impressive so and we are extremely happy with the finished project.”
