West Lindsey District Council, which runs the arts centre, has announced it will be introducing extended box office opening hours from the middle of June.

The Grade II-listed building on Trinity Street, which puts on a range of live theatre, cinema and live music events, has grown in popularity over the last few years.

From Monday June 18, customers will be able to book tickets either in person or by phone at the Guildhall, Marshall’s Yard, from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Customers will still be able to purchase tickets on Saturdays at the arts centre, from 9.30am to 1pm, and also one hour before performances begin.

West Lindsey district councillor Gillian Bardsley, who is a big supporter of the arts centre, said: “Trinity Arts Centre is a wonderful asset here in Gainsborough, attracting both ‘National Theatre Live’ to Gainsborough’s very own ‘Fame Academy’.

“The arts centre has undergone a huge refurbishment in recent years including a new roof and seating.

“This latest announcement is just the latest stage of how the council is working to improve the offer at the centre for our customers.”

Coun Jessie Milne, another big advocate of the arts centre, also welcomed the news.

She said: “I am delighted to announce that we will be extending our box office opening times from June. We have listened to our customers and this is in response to what they have told us they would like to see.

“In addition to customers booking tickets face to face or over the phone, they can still book tickets online.

“Alternatively if spaces are available they can pay for shows on the night – but to avoid disappointment it is best to book in advance.”

She added: “This is part of our Customer First Programme of work, where we are committed to putting our customer at the centre of everything we do.”
