It was announced on Thursday, August 18, that the management at Marshall’s Yard Ltd in Gainsborough has discontinued its relationship with Smart Parking Ltd by mutual consent.

After listening to the feedback it received from customers since the new parking management system was introduced in June, Marshall’s Yard has decided that it will now operate the car park in house with immediate effect.

A statement from Marshall’s Yard said: “It is clear that the new system has not worked for some of our customers and we would like to offer our apologies if this has detracted from the excellent customer experience we pride ourselves on delivering at Marshall’s Yard.

“If not already done so customers in receipt of a Parking Charge Notice issued between June 20, and July 20, need to appeal or re-appeal to Smart Parking.

“We have received assurances from Smart Parking that all appeals within this period will be treated as cancellations.

“Anyone who does not receive a satisfactory outcome should get in touch with the Marshall’s Yard team on the following email [email protected].

“We will be making no changes to the current car parking tariff or length of stay, however the Marshall’s Yard car park will be monitored by on site staff in the future.

“Full details of our new car parking policy will be announced in due course.

“We would like to thank all our customers for their patience while we have been working to resolve this issue and we look forward to welcoming you to Marshall’s Yard.”

The new Automatic Number Plate Recognition system was introduced on June 20, with customers having to now enter their full registration number into new pay and display machines.

The car parking charges remain the same at 50p for up to two hours and £1 for four hours with a four hour maximum stay.
