WALES Methodist Panto Players are gearing up for their brand-new production Babes in the Wood - and you could be in the audience.

We have teamed up with the Players to offer one lucky reader the chance to win a family ticket to the opening night on Friday 11th January 2013 in Sheffield.

Babes in the Wood will be the Players’ 68th panto and promises to offer fun for all the family, dazzling costumes and plenty of office participation.

The group was formed in 1944 by Roy Staniforth MBE who handed over his wigs to Nick Challenger who directed this year’s production.

Nick, who will start as Dame Daisy Dumpling, said his predecessor Roy really knows how to write a traditional family pantomime.

“Pantos are great fun for all the family and this year we have a cast 60 people aged from three to 70,” he said.

“I am really enjoying directing and producing the show - there’s lots of funny scenes which have us all in hysterics.”

He added: “it has been 13 years since we last did Babes in the Wood so we thought it was time the dust was blown off the script, with the advice of Mr Panto, Roy Staniforth.”

Set in Sherwood Forest, Babes in the Wood tells the tale of the babes (Jacob and Cobie Froggatt) who are entrusted in the care of the Sheriff of Nottingham (Shaun Bradley) and cared for by Daisy Dumpling.

Expect to meet the good guys along the way from Robin Hood (Alison Wade) and Maid Marian (Toni Lemm) to the baddies Richard and Dick the robbers (Martin Crowther and Phillip Burgess).

Tickets for the show, which runs on Friday 11th, Saturday 12th, Friday 18th and Saturday 19th January 2013 at the Montgomery Theatre in Sheffield , are priced £9 adults, £7 concessions, £5 children.

For more information on performance times and to buy tickets, call Jayne Lemm on 01909 809757 or 07730 266810.
