The gothic musical masterpiece that is Jekyll & Hyde returns to the Sheffield stage next week with the Southey Musical Theatre Company.
Based on Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novel, the storyline is gritty and dark as the brilliant Dr Jekyll, in his attempts to find a cure for mental illness, unwittingly unleashes his own dark side, to wreak havoc in the form of the maniacal Edward Hyde.
The evocative storyline is added to by the brilliant score with powerful numbers such as This Is The Moment, Facade, Alive, and In His Eyes.
Mark Holmes will play the challenging dual role of Jekyll and Hyde, with real life partner Gina Townend as Lucy and Jennifer Horsfield as Emma– his two love interests.
Jekyll & Hyde is at the Montgomery Theatre in Sheffield from next Wednesday to Saturday (22nd-25th April).
