Brit Award winner Plan B is playing live in the county this summer.
A singer, cultural commentator, critically acclaimed director and actor, and musical maverick, Plan B – aka Ben Drew – will be performing live at Market Rasen Racecourse on June 1 as part of the Jockey Club Live series.
The gig will be his first live show in the UK for four years.
Plan B’s new album, Heaven Before All Hell Breaks Loose came out earlier this month and the singer is looking forward to showcasing his new material live.
He said: “I’m excited to be headlining Market Rasen Racecourse this summer.
“Looking forward to playing songs from the new album.”
Plan B is best known for his chart-topping album, The Defamation Of Strickland Banks, which achieved quadruple-platinum status and sold more than 1.4 million copies in the UK alone.
It saw him win both a Brit Award and three Ivor Novello Awards.
Following this, his 2012 directorial debut (and accompanying album) iLLManors saw him smashing boundaries with his creative style of overlapping stories and interweaving rap-narrative, boldly addressing socio-political issues with his often brutal cultural commentary.
The album again topped the UK charts and earnt him another Brit Award nomination and his first Mercury Music Prize nomination.
As well as music, the star has been expanding his acting career, most notably starring alongside Ray Winstone in the 2012 big screen version of The Sweeney.
Nadia Powell, general manager at Market Rasen , said: “Jockey Club Live concerts are now hugely popular annual events in Lincolnshire with racing and music fans eagerly anticipating the announcement of our acts every year.
“Plan B is a marvellous booking and we know that many thousands of his fans will be keen to snap up tickets for the concert.”
Tickets start at £30 with a limited number of child tickets available from £20 and are available at goo.gl/M4Hdri
