The Lea Village Hall committee have joined up with Lincolnshire-based non-profit organisation Blueprint: Film Foundation on their upcoming Flix In The Stix project, bringing monthly cinema screenings to seven rural locations across Lincolnshire for the next 12 months.
Beginning this week, Lea Village Hall will host a range of films from a varied programme, including recent releases and classic titles.
The film programme has been specially selected by the village hall committee, in partnership with Blueprint and starts on Thursday, June 16 with the award-winning comedy-drama The Martian.
Directed by Ridley Scott, The Martian stars Matt Damon as an astronaut who is presumed dead and abandoned on Mars during a fierce storm in a mission gone array.
Left with just his ingenuity and wit he must find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive.
There will be food and drink available on site, with proceeds going to the hall.
Films will begin at 7.30 with doors open from 7pm.
Entry is £3 with £1 of all proceeds being donated to the Lea Village Hall committee for use within the hall and local community.
All other proceeds are put back into the community cinema to allow it to run for a full year.
