The Hospital Players are presenting Brian Clemens and Dennis Spooner’s murder-mystery satire A Sting in the Tale at the Plowright Theatre in Scunthorpe next week.

Two once successful crime writing playwrights are writing a block bluster to pay off their mounting debts.

At least, that what it seems to be, but is all actually as it seems?

Are they, in fact, finally fulfilling their full potential by plotting the perfect murder?

The nagging wife is the ideal victim, especially as she is heavily insured.

It all seems plausible until their secretary is mistakenly killed and a stagestruck detective appears on the scene.

The play is on from next Tuesday (20th January) to Saturday (24th January) at 7.30pm each night.

Tickets priced £10 (all nights) are available on 0844 854 2776 or online at
