La Voce aim to make opera fresh and fun

The best classically-trained voices the world has to offer, together on one stage, is promised as the UK’s answer to Il Divo comes to town.

Critically-acclaimed stage show La Voce introduces live music fans to the world of Pop Opera.

The show, which comes to the Baths Hall, Scunthorpe, on July 1, is the only theatre show currently on tour that combines classical favourites with number one hits from the past 50 years, says show promoter Pete Tobit or GRT

“It’s opera made welcoming and inviting, without losing the quality of musical performance,” he says.

“The best-know opera hits are combined seamlessly with everyone’s favourite pop songs.”

Four-part harmonies breathe life into classics Nessun Dorma, Ol Sole Mio and Con te Partiro, dovetailing with much-loved chart hits like Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, Back For Good and Bohemian Rhapsody.

“Backed by highly-accomplished musicians,” says Pete, “the quartet enthral and entertain with their perfect combination of choreography, comedy and song. “

La Voce’s mission statement is “to broaden the appeal of opera – making it fun, fresh and intimate”.

“It’s the perfect evening for opera lovers and fans of great popular music alike,” says Pete.

“It’s the ultimate crossover production. A show that has something for everyone.”

The concert at Baths Hall on July 1 starts at 7.30pm.
