The man who won this year’s Dave Best Joke of the Edinburgh Fringe Award is coming to Lincoln on tour.
Liverpool comic Adam Rowe is being hailed as one of the most exciting young acts in the UK and will be showing Lincoln audiences why when he comes to the Engine Shed on November 9 with his new live tour, Undeniable.
Adam has just completed a third straight year at the Edinburgh Festival, having had a total sell-out last year.
This year, he further announced his talent to the world when taking home the coveted Best Joke at the Fringe honour when he said ‘working at the jobcentre has to be a tense job – knowing that if you get fired, you still have to come in the next day.’
He said: “There’s nothing I’ve ever wanted more than to be a touring comedian, so this is literally the most exciting thing that could ever happen to me.
“I feel really, really lucky to be getting an opportunity like this as it’s usually only comics who have a wealth of TV appearances behind them that get the chance to do a tour of this size and I haven’t had any TV exposure yet.
“This is all only possible due to people watching and sharing videos of my stand-up online, which is really cool and something that I’m extremely grateful for.
“I’m really proud of this new show and I just want as many people to come out and see it as possible.
“It’s about my insecurities, but you’d have to really over analyse it to see that.
“On the face of it, it’s an hour of opinionated, brutally honest stand-up about my working class background, growing up in Liverpool and the last year of my life.
“Come see it, it’s going to be boss.”
In Undeniable, he takes a close look at how your background, class, race, sociological issues, mental health and personality all either hinder or aid your journey for that title.
He thinks you can turn (what seems to be) your biggest weakness into your biggest strength.
The show looks at how prejudice, whilst often an abhorrent trait, is part of human nature and how it can be used in a very positive way. Sometimes tunnel visioned, determination & self-belief can often be mistaken for arrogance & selfishness.
Are those things truly necessary to become Undeniable?
Adam can certainly draw on life’s lessons when speaking about this.
He’s determined to take the lessons he’s learned and characteristics he’s developed from these circumstances, and use them to get absolutely everything he wants from life.
This is an inspiring and uplifting show about how you can achieve anything you want, regardless of where and what background you come from.
His online stand-up clips have been amassed more than 50 million views in total over the past year, earning him fans all over the globe.
Tickets for his Lincoln show are £14 on 0871 2200260 or www.engineshed.co.uk
