Morton Trentside Primary have had a sellar term of sporting success, qualifying for a range of championships.
The school’s hockey team, consisting of Yeaar 5 pupils, were victorious in their Sainsbury’s School Games matches and went on to qualify for the County Championships in July.
Their form is all the more impressive given that it’s the first time Morton have played hockey competitively.
Following in the hockey side’s footsteps, the Year 4/5 cricket teams were champions in the Sainsbury’s School Games qualifiers, and will now take their place in the county finals on 7th July at Hartsholme Park.
Not content with their double success, the school also achieved in the water.
Both the Year 3/4 and 5/6 swimming teams booked places in the Sainsbury’s School Games Championships at Grantham Meres Leisure Centre on 8th July.
And on the football pitch, the school team finished top of the Gainsborough Schools League, and were runners-up in the Corringham Memorial.
A school spokesperson told the Standard they were over the moon with the range of sporting triumphs: “These are just an overview of some of the wonderful achievements – we are immensely proud of all children who have represented our school.”
