The guest speakers for Bassetlaw Umpires Association’s monthly meeting in February will be Christopher and Peter Pyemont, a pair of former head teachers from St Bede’s College at Eastbourne.

Both brothers taught the late Test Match Special commentator, Christopher Martin-Jenkins and are members of the Marylebone Cricket Club.

They have put together a programme with film clips called the ‘History of the Ashes.’

The presentation dates back to W.G. Grace, takes viewers through the explosive Bodyline series and includes Jim Laker’s 19 wickets in a match and the ‘ball from hell’ delivered by Shane Warne, much to the surprise of Mike Gatting.

This package has been presented with great success at major venues all over the country, including Lords and The Oval, where there was an admission fee of £15.00 for entrance.

The meeting starts at 2.30pm on Saturday 7th February and will be held at the usual venue, Cuckney Cricket Centre on Langwith Road, Cuckney.

All cricket loving enthusiasts are welcome to attend the meeting.
