LEE Westwood tees off on English soil in competitive action for the first time this season, as he begins his challenge for the BMW PGA Championship.
The event runs from Thursday to Sunday, and his first round was due to begin at 8.15am in a three-ball with Graeme McDowell and Thomas Bjorn.
On Friday the former Valley student tees off at 12.40pm.
Worksop’s number one export will hope to go one step beyond his 2011 performance at Wentworth, where he lost in a play-off final to Luke Donald.
Westwood has confirmed that Michael Waite is his new caddie, until Billy Foster recovers from the knee injury he suffered during a charity football match.
Waite has previously worked with Ian Baker-Finch, Robert Allenby and Michael Campbell, who he caddied to victory in the 2005 US Open.
