Margaret Robinson retained her Ladies Singles crown at Beckingham Bowls Club.
Robinson beat Carole Booth on the last end by one shot to bring the season to an end.
The trophy along with those for the Open Singles, Pairs and Triples will be presented at the club’s 70th aniversary presentation evening to be held at Beckingham Willow Works on Friday 5 October.
The evening will start with a buffet meal followed by the presentation of trophies, which will be followed by a guest speaker reminiscing about the 1950’s.
The evening will conclude with the draw for the club’s 70th Anniversary raffle.
As a thank you to the club’s premier sponsors Cliff Bradley & Sons Funeral Directors, members of their staff enjoyed a second taster session with club players at the club’s green during the week prior to the Ladies Singles.
Beckingham’s green was closed for the season on Tuesday 25 September to allow the ground staff to deep scarify the surface in readiness for the green to be cored and re-seeded by direct drilling on 28th and 29th September.
Once the seed has germinated and is established, the surface will be cut on a monthly basis at a height suitable for winter.
