A 57-year-old Gainsborough woman delighted darts fans with her colourful walk out at the BDO Championships at Lakeside today.

Paula Jacklin, captain of the Lincolnshire side, fulfilled her dream of playing in the prestigious televised tournament.

And the moment she walked out to face Dutchwoman Aileen De Graff was one to savour, for darts fans as much as herself.

Draped in a Lincolnshire flag, the charismatic Jacklin emerged to the unmistakable strains of DJ Snake and Lil Jon’s single Turn Down for What.

Unfortunately the match failed to live up to her spectacular walk on, however, as she lost 2-0 to the highly rated De Graff.

But hitting a 180 and living out her dream, Jacklin was a hit on social media.

Twitter user Danielle Scale said: “Paula Jacklin - new favourite person coming in like a ‘g’ in a cape.”

Stuart Davis tweeted: “The Coral office explodes as Paula Jacklin hits a 180. Must have been all them smooches she had on the way up.”

“I’m dying. Paula Jacklin coming on to the Lakeside stage to Turn Down for What. That’s brilliant,” tweeted Andrew Tilson.
