However, that didn’t stop many runners from having a go at various parkruns on Saturday morning.

At Gainsborough Ian Haldenby and Jane Saunders recorded new personal best times, 25:54 and 33:34 respectively, on the undulating course just behind the Leisure Centre. James Croft was the first finisher, the 16th time he has achieved that position.

A couple of Striders dipped their toes into the Woodhall Spa Triathlon on Sunday.

This comprised a 400m swim, 24k cycle ride followed by a 5k run. David Sweeting finished in just under 1 hr 25 minutes with Samantha Garrison following him home 21 minutes later.

There will be no training next Tuesday as the juniors and seniors will be racing at the Lincoln Wellington race series.
