Gainsborough Aegir Cycling Club members tackle frost and ice

A cold morning with frost and ice in the county lanes made riding difficult for the second set of Gainsborough Aegir Cycling Club’s reliability rides.

During the 50k ride, Trevor Halstead and Daniel Nicholson chose category C 2 hours 40 minutes, Pete Hanks chose category D 3 hours 10 minutes.

Trevor returned in 2 hours 7 minutes, Daniel was back with a time of 2 hours 14 minutes and Pete 2 hours 35 minutes. All the riders returned with in their chosen time categories.

The 50K route saw riders head out of Gainsborough to Lea, before going through Knaith Park, Kexby, Upton, Springthorpe, Corringham, Northorpe, Scotton, Scotter, Susworth, heading homewards along side the River Trent passing through East Ferry, Wildsworth, East Stockwith, Walkerith and Morton returning into Gainsborough along Ropery Road to finish at Ropery Road.

Next Sunday’s rides are Reliability Rides 20mile, 50K or 50mile, with riders meeting at 9am at 20 Ropery Road in Gainsborough.

On Saturday Gainsborough Aegir Cycling Club members Dave Day, Trevor Halstead, Paul Reynolds, Ray Newton and Mark Clark attended The Lincolnshire Road Riding Association Annual Dinner & Prize Presentation held at The Solo Club in Sleaford.
