The Trent Valley 100 Sportive returns for the second year running this Autumn, with entrants in with a chance of winning a Planet X bike.

Trent Valley Road Club held their first 100km or 100 mile route Sportive last year, and could be hosting up to 600 riders in their second event on 18th October.

The event will be co-hosted by Sportive HQ, and will begin and end at The Academy, in Gainsborough.

It’s the third major event for Trent Valley Road Club in 2015, and entrants to the three events will have their names put in a prize draw for the brand new Planet X bike.

It is hoped a local dignitary will make the presentation of the bike after the Sportive on the day.

Paul Freeman of TVRC encouraged novices to sign up for their first taste of a Sportive.

“For anyone entering for the first time, the challenge of completing a 100 mile ride or a 100km ride is very satisfying.

“Cycling is a real buzz word at the minute, and so events like this help to promote the sport, and the obvious health benefits.”

The routes will both be signposted, and more information will be released in the coming weeks.

Entry can be made online at Sportive HQ or at the club’s website

Trent Valley Road Club was set up in 2011 and boasts a full calendar of Time Trial events and Circuit Racing throughout the summer months.
