Gainsborough athlete Heather Cooke recorded a respectable finish in the England Athletics National Indoor Championships on Sunday.
The teenager was in action in the 60m hurdles at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield.
Although she normally competes in 300m hurdles, this was a chance to add to her experience, and she qualified from the heats with a time of 9.49 seconds, just 100th of a second slower than her personal best.
In the semi-final she finished seventh with 9.72 seconds, a very respectable time after clattering into the penultimate hurdle.
This Saturday she’s at the England Athletics Championships in the combined eventsin the 60m hurdles, shot putt, long jump, high jump and 800m.
