Gainsborough’s Faith Jackson-Lee took on the Roth Iron Man Challenge in Germany earlier this month and completed it in a time of 11 hours, 47 minutes and seven seconds.

Jackson Lee (nee Grocock) split times were broken down into the three disciplines which involved a 2.4-mile swim in 59.34, 112-mile cycle in 6:37.44 and 26.2-mile marathon in 4:01.53.

Born in Gainsborough and attended both Charles Baines and Huntcliffe Comprehensive School, Faith was also a competitive member of the Gainsborough Swimming club from an early age.

“Like so many of her peers and family she was trained by club volunteers and coaches who helped children attain high standards of competitive sport representing both club and county level in galas. Faith also represented her school and Humberside for running and was supported by strong teachers,” said mum Linda.
