Gainsborough Aegir Cycling Club held events to cater for the most experienced and most inexperienced riders this week.

And as part of National Bike Week, the club hosted a five-mile novice race for riders not used to the thrills of a cycle race.

The weather was fine with a west wind that gave the novice riders a difficult start, but some good times were achieved by the competitors.

Three riders took part in the Gainsborough Aegir Cycling Club Non Racing Members Trophy event on the same course.

The course started on Carr Lane, and the riders proceeded towards East Stockwith along Carr Lane, riding through East Stockwith and Walkerith before heading to Morton.

It was then a sprint along Laughton Lane to finish at the junction with Carr Lane.

After the race there was a presentation of awards and a social get together at The Ship Inn at Morton.

Gainsborough Aegir Cycling Club would like to thank the Ship Inn for their hospitality, and express their gratitude to the time keepers and marshals.
