The win kept the promotion hunting local side top of the table, 11 points ahead of Kiveton Park II, although Lea Park have played one game more.

Bawtry were the visitors on Saturday, and after being dismissed for 202, were unable to halt Lea Park who reached the target for the loss of just three wickets.

North Wheatley with Leverton got back to winning ways in the Championship Division on Saturday at home to Kiveton Park.

The hosts scored a massive 289 for 5 with Will Shaw (75) and Richard Robinson (74) leading the way with the bat, backed up by useful contributions from Jamie Sizer (46 not out) and Dwight Thomas (33).

The Kiveton Park batsmen didn’t roll over with Adam Whiteley scoring a fine 127, but Jamie Bovill with 6 for 64 and Callum Harrison 3 for 31 were on top form with the ball and the visitors eventually succumbed to a 72-run defeat when they were all out for 217.

But it was a bad day for our two local teams in Division One as both Everton and Wiseton went down to heavy home defeats.

Everton’s promotion prospects took a dive when they entertained Clumber Park and lost by nine wickets. They scored 150 for 9 and their bowlers were unable to make inroads into the Clumber Park batting line-up.

Wiseton welcomed Whitwell and restricted the visitors to 177 for 9 with Matt Loates taking 4 for 33, but any hopes of a win soon disappeared as the Whitwell bowlers ripped through their batsmen and the hosts were skittled out for just 57.

In Division Four Rose Leisure kept in second place after a 140-run victory over Clay Cross Works at North Warren Road, scoring 218 for 5 declared and then dismissing the visitors for 78.

Marshalls also cruised to a good win at Anston III.

A fine century from Mark Whitlam and 71 from Martyn Snell saw them post a formidable 254 for 2 and then Mark Raisborough (3 for 10) and Robert Ridler (3 for 18) helped dismiss Anston for 145 to record a 109-run victory.

Everton II managed a losing draw away to Clumber Park II, the hosts scoring 147 for 9 and Everton hanging on at the end on 107 for 9.

North Wheatley with Leverton II suffered a heavy 192-run defeat when they visited leaders Woodsetts. Josh Bovill did well to return bowling figures of 5 for 63 as the hosts scored 250 for 8, but the Wheatley batting order collapsed to 58 all out.

In Division Five Misterton had to settle for a losing draw at Mansfield and Pleasley III. The hosts scored 251 for 7 and Misterton had to thank Robin Hackney (43 not out) and Dave Manning (31 not out) who saw the overs out to end on 139 for 8.

Wiseton II completed a bad day for the club when they went down by 105 runs away to Farnsfield III. The hosts hit 267 for 5 and then proceeded to bowl Wiseton out for 162 although a defiant 57 from Sam Armistead helped lift the gloom a little.
