Gainsborough Trinity Under 16s moved into the quarter-finals of the Lincolnshire Cup, producing a stunning performance to beat a strong Ruston Sports side 3-2.
Trinity began the game with a high tempo and went in front on 10 minutes when Daniel Krakow fired the ball across the box for Keatan Gale to score at the far post. and
A well worked free-kick by Tom Williams put Spencer Robson through who calmly shot passed the keeper for 2-0.
That seem to spark Ruston into life and they levelled the game before the break.
In the second half Trinity once again started stronger with the midfielders Robson, Bircumshaw, Miles and Gale protecting the defence.
Midway through the half a corner from Robson floated to the far side of the area where striker Williams was waiting to produce a tremendous strike and put his side ahead.
Keeper Josh Brockett and defenders Weatherell, Turver, Bush and McKay kept their lead intact until full-time.
