New football league starts up at Roses in Gainsborough

Soccersixes started a new football league in Gainsborough this week at Roses.

The 8pm Tuesday night league forms part of a nationwide system, with over 250 leagues in over 150 locations.

Leagues are fully affiliated with the FA and match officials are provided.

They have eight to 12 teams in each league and the season lasts between 18 and 21 weeks.

Matches are either 30 or 40 minutes, played in one of two formats; six-a-side with nine in the squad or five-a-side with squads of eight players.

Jonathan Coles, Gainsborough Town Council football development Officer said: “It’s fantastic having anotherfootball opportunity in the town and at Roses.”

Brett Clark of Soccersixes added: “We would like to thank the town council for the help and support they have given us in establishing this new league”
