Leigh Hutchinson grabbed a hat-trick as a make-shift Gainsborough Town side cruised to a 5-1 victory over Heckington United.
On a muddy, and very chilly, Marshalls field, Town went into action without seven first team regulars including their entire backline.
There was however a welcome return for Geno Robinson, after a four month lay-off, as he started alongside Steve Hutchinson in the middle.
Town went ahead in the 20th minute as Leigh Hutchinson cut inside from the left and drove an unstoppable shot past the stranded keeper.
Gainsborough doubled there advantage when the industrious Joe Owen broke free and slid the ball home.
The back three of Lill, Anderson and debutant Carl LaRocca were rarely troubled due to the work rate of the midfield four, and Liam Andrews in goal was a bystander for the whole of the first half.
In the second half Hutchinson slid home his second of the afternoon after some neat interplay between the forwards.
Town were soon four up when Karl Slack headed home his first of the season, after a fantastic delivery by Hutchinson.
Heckington’s hard work paid off as they broke down the left and a great ball was swung in for their striker who made no mistake from six yards.
Dickinson returned from a 10 week absence and almost netted instantly with a header that crept wide.
Town got their fifth when Hutchinson secured his first hat-trick of the season, neatly finishing from 12 yards.

Towns next match is away to Boston United Reserves, when they’ll be hoping to avenge their semi-final penalty shootout defeat two weeks ago.
They will be however without captain Jamie Shaw through injury and top scorer Craig Lill who is suspended.
