Gainsborough boss Dominic Roma admitted he was never worried about his side’s away form after Trinity grabbed their first away win of the season.
It was only the Blues fourth point on the road this term, having notched a solitary point away at Worcester earlier on.
Matt Thornhill grabbed the winner, finding the net 15 minutes from time to complete the turnaround at Curzon Ashton.
Speaking after the game, Roma said that he always had faith in his players.
He said: “It’s not been playing on my mind because I know that with the quality we have got in the side it was only a matter of time.
“We have been in good positions in away games this season and not really seen games out which is something that I have been trying to stress over the last few weeks.
“We have won away from home now, we have to try and carry this on now as our home form has been brilliant. If we can start picking up more points away from home, we will pick up more points then we lose this season.”
The Blues went behind after just three minutes at the Tameside Stadium with the Trinity Chief saying how he had stressed to his side not to concede early.
He said: “It was a poor start. We had talked all week about keeping tight and making sure you stay with your runners for the first ten minutes and they scored after three so that went out of the window.
“After that we got to grips with the midfield because they are a good footballing side and credit to John he puts together good passing sides. Once we started playing our own football we had the clearer of the chances. Jordan has gone through which the keeper has saved with Jarmo following the rebound off the line.
“We created some good chances and we said at half time we need to keep believing, keep our shape and keeping moving the ball like we can and the chances will open up, which they did.”
“It should give the lads confidence on the road because we are a good footballing team. We have come to Curzon. Against a good side, picked up the three points. Along with our excellent home form, which we need to keep up, we can build on this away victory.”
