Gainsborough Trinity have been handed a home tie against League One Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup’s first round proper.

Steve Housham’s side were drawn out as ball number 51 in the draw, televised live on BBC from the ground of West Yorkshire side Thackley.

The Shrews are currently 16th in League One.

To reach the first round proper the Blues had to overcome bitter rivals Boston United, lower league Droylsden and National League giants Wrexham.

Victory over on Saturday 7th or Sunday 8th November would give Gainsborough a much needed cash windfall of £18,000.

To date this season Trinity have earned a total of £24,500 in FA Cup prize money.
