Blues Club postponement means they slip down Lincoln Saturday Football League

The Blues Club slipped to fourth in the Lincoln Saturday League, as two teams below them benefited from the Gainsborough side’s lack of action last weekend.

Their game at Lincoln Moorland Railway Reserves was postponed in midweek, meaning unbeaten Birchwood United, who beat Saxilby Athletic 2-1 and Horncastle Town Reserves, who beat midtable Monson FC by the same scoreline, both leapfrogged the Blues Club.

This Saturday the Blues Club are due to take on Birchwood at home, hoping to inflict a first defeat on the second placed side and move back above them.

Danny Hicks is Birchwood’s dangerman, with 14 goals to his name.
