Rose Leisure were the only local winners in Bassetlaw Cricket League Division Four on Saturday, thanks to their massive 179-run victory over Worksop II.
The hosts scored 229 for 5, with Daniel Clay hitting an unbeaten 74, Ben Smith adding 61 and Graham Clay 37.
They skittled Worksop for just 50 runs, with Ashley Clay taking 4 for 13 and Graham Clay 3 for 28 to cap a fine day for the club, and the Clay family.
Marshalls were well beaten when they visited Notts and Arnold Amateur III as the hosts bowled them out for 131 and then sailed past that total for the loss of just three wickets.
There was a similar margin of defeat for North Wheatley with Leverton II when they travelled to Basford Mill, the visitors scoring 137 and then seeing the home batsmen ease past that total.
Everton II suffered disappointment at Clay Cross Works.
They bowled the hosts out for 152 with Matt Woods taking 3 for 45, but their batsmen could only manage a disappointing 93 as they slid to a 59-run defeat.
There was a second consecutive victory for North Wheatley with Leverton in the Bassetlaw Cricket League Championship Division when they battled to a narrow 19-run success against Thoresby Colliery at Wheatley on Saturday.
Solid knocks from Dwight Thomas (38) and Richard Robinson (35) helped them to 169 for 9, but they then had to thank Callum Harrison who took six wickets for just 21 runs to help bowl the visitors out for 150.
In Division One there was an exciting win for second-placed Everton over leaders Caythorpe II. A fine unbeaten 88 from Dan Brighton who was well supported by Gareth Campion with 34 saw the local team post a formidable 229 for 4, and steady bowling by Matt Hewson (3 for 44) and Henry Eldred (3 for 49) saw Caythorpe bowled out for 201.
However, over at Wiseton it was not such good news as the home team lost their match against Firbeck by 76 runs.
The visitors scored 206 all out with James Moss taking 4 for 44 and in reply Wiseton could only must 130.
In another second v first encounter, this time in Division Three, there was a fine victory for the second-placed team Lea Park against leaders Kiveton Park II at Middlefield Lane.
Lee Mardle (54), Greg Andrews (51) and Chris Needham (36) were the mainstays of Lea Park’s innings as they amassed 219 for 9, and them a good bowling performance from Andrew Slater with 5 for 39 helped get the visitors out for 170 to give the hosts a 49-run victory.
Misterton maintained third place in Division Five after victory at Grassmoor II, bowling the hosts out for 144 and then comfortably passing that total with five wickets to spare.
In Division Six there was a run fest in the match between home side Bawtry II and visitors Wiseton II.
The hosts scored 221 for 5, Matt Upton taking 3 for 48, and Chris Kidd (46), David Stockdale (43) and Jason Newstead (34) helped Wiseton to 180 for 7 and a losing draw.
