A best-selling children’s author will be in North Lincolnshire on Tuesday to meet young fans.
Children from a number of primary schools will get the chance to meet Cathy Cassidy, one of the UK’s top children’s authors, at the Baths Hall, Scunthorpe.
Best-selling Puffin girl brand author and ‘Queen of Teen’ Cathy will share stories of her early writing days and career into journalism working for both ‘Jackie’ and ‘Shout’ magazines.
Cathy’s talk is filled with her top tips for friendship, daydreaming – and lots of chocolate!
An audience quiz will take place to discover which Cathy Cassidy character her fans most resemble.
The talk will also include a question and answer section when Cathy will attempt to answer any of her fans’ questions, then she will sign any books the children buy or have brought along with them on the day.
Coun Carl Sherwood, cabinet member for leisure and customer services, said: “This is a unique opportunity for children to meet best-selling author Cathy Cassidy. I’m sure many of them have read her books so they will have lots of questions to ask her.
“It’s a real feat for our library service to bring such a well-known author to Scunthorpe to meet primary school children. She is proof that you can achieve anything if you put your mind to it, which is great inspiration for children and young people.”
