The Bassetlaw Action Centre have a range of volunteering opportunities across the district for anyone looking to meet new people and provide assistance in the community.
Volunteer positions available include befriender, minibus and car scheme drivers as well as administration volunteers.
The befriending scheme receives referrals for clients identified by their GP to be suffering from extreme loneliness. Befrienders will visit clients for one hour a week and encourage them to make positive choices as well as just providing some companionship.
Drivers will support people who cannot access public transport and need help going shopping or getting to appointments safely.
Volunteers of all backgrounds and ages are welcomed to apply, although being patient, reliable and willing to do a small amount of paper work are an advantage.
Anyone applying for a voluntary driving role will need a full and clean driving licence.
To find out more about the roles ring 01777 709650 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
