VIDEO: Folk dancing for the over 40s

Folk dancing to help people over 40 in the Isle of Axholme step their way to fitness has returned for a new programme.

After the outstanding success of the first five programmes of country dances held in Westwoodside, Epworth and Crowle, local folk dance band Lys St Georges has started another programme of dances funded by a North Lincolnshire Council Community Grant Programme.

On Thursday, October 22, the series of fitness dances will move to St Andrew’s Church in Epworth, and also on October 29 and November 5. On Thursday November 12, it will move to Crowle Pavilion, Godnow Road, where it will also be on November 19 and November 26. Each dance starts at 2.30pm and lasts for two hours.

You don’t need a partner or any experience in country dancing and the dances will be suitable for all levels of fitness. There will be live music and expert tuition. There will be a small admission charge of £2 for each dance. For details call 01427 873937 or 01427 753363.
