Assistant Chief Constable Chris Noble spoke at the passing out parade: “This is a proud moment for all those passing out. They have all worked extremely hard during their training to get to this stage.

“Their 15 weeks training have been very challenging and has prepared them for what they will face on our streets. I want to pass on my continued gratitude to the trainers who are making sure our officers are equipped both mentally and physically for the challenges ahead.

“A number of these new officers are heading to our rural communities which will provide reassurance to those residents who have told us of their concerns about reduced officer numbers in our more remote areas, along with officers being drafted into the areas where they are most needed at this time.

“Our recruitment drive continues and we will be recruiting again in the coming months, new applicants will have the opportunity to join 264 officers that have already been appointed since August 2017.

Police and Crime Commissioner Keith Hunter said: “It is great to see another group of officers passing out and ready to join the officers and staff already out there delivering an improving service to our communities.

“These new officers should be proud of themselves for having achieved this significant milestone and I encourage them to get stuck-in as soon as they hit the streets and do the work that makes a difference to the public.

“This is another step forward for Humberside Police as additional officers join the ranks but there is still a lot of work to be done to recover the ground that has been lost in connecting with communities and making the Humberside police area as safe as it can be. So for those new officers it is well done so far and now the real work begins.”
