GLOBE-TROTTING pupils from Gainsborough’s Trent Valley Academy (TVA) who went on a special trip to France to sample some European culture.
The TVA pupils travelled to Comenius in France where they were placed with French families for the duration of their stay.
While there, the students also paid their respects to fallen war heroes.
A spokesman said: “They totally embraced all aspects of the French culture and were a credit to TVA.”
Maths teacher Bethany McCann organised the visit.
“The trip was a huge success for both the students and the staff,” she said.
“This was the third visit of five that have been planned in countries across Europe.”
Year 11 pupil Abigail Robinson, 15, said: “The trip gave me a chance to see how other people in the world my age live compared to how we do.”
She added: “I got the chance to meet new people and make new friends even though there was occasionally a minor language barrier.”
“Their English was brilliant and definitely put my French to shame. All in all it was a brilliant experience and a great laugh.”
