Residents in Torksey can find out more about plans for a children’s play area in the village at an information event this month.
A working group comprising members of Torksey Action Group and parish councillors is looking at building a small play area on the village green for young children to enjoy.
The group would like to invite residents to view the plans at an open event on Saturday 20th April on the village green.
Residents can attend anytime between 2pm and 4pm to see the plans, find out more and ask any questions.
TAG member Pat Turton said some parents in the village currently travel to Gainsborough or Saxilby for play facilities, and the group received an ‘overwhelmingly positive’ response to a questionnaire distributed in the village.
She said: “It is absolutely desperately needed.”
“One young mum with two small children said in her questionnaire that it will give her somewhere to go to meet other mums.”
Mrs Turton added: “We don’t have a village hall and it might be a focal point for young mums and for children to meet other children as well.”
It is hoped the £24,000 project could be funded through grants and donations.
