At the February meeting held on Wednesday 5th in the chapel schoolroom, president Jean White introduced the speakers for the evening, Steve and Julie from Uncle Henry’s Farm Shop, who gave a lively and informative talk about the history of the farm and what it has to offer today. The competition was won by Doreen Whitelam and the raffle was won by Joan Capes. The evening ended with refreshments supplied by the speakers. The March meeting of Scotter WI takes place on Wednesday 5th March at 7.30pm in the chapel schoolroom.
The February meeting of Messy Church was very well attended when the theme for the morning was the Winter Olympics. The youngsters were able to make pipe cleaner skiers, edible Olympic torches and challenge each other to games. They joined the congregation in the chapel at the end of the morning service to show their work. The next meeting of Messy Church takes place on 9th March from 10.15am in the chapel schoolroom when it is planned to make Mothering Sunday cards and gifts and make pancakes.
The service on Sunday 16th February at 10.30am will be taken by Mr A. Wilson.
Mr C. Todd will be the speaker when Women’s Hour meet in the chapel schoolroom on Wednesday 19th February at 2pm.
Dates for March
Lent Lunches will be held in the chapel schoolroom every Friday throughout March from noon; on Friday 7th Women’s World Day of Prayer will take place in the chapel at 2pm; on Saturday 8th the monthly book sale/Food Bank is in the chapel; on Sunday 9th Messy Church; on Monday 10th Toddler Praise; on Sunday 30th there is a Mothering Sunday Family Service at 10.30am in the chapel.
