Police investigating the theft of collection money from a church believe the thief hid inside the building before escaping with the cash.
St Mary and St Lawrence Church in High Street, Bolsover, held a flower festival on Sunday 12th July and the building was locked up at 7.30pm.
The next day, on Monday 13th July, shortly before 10am, the church warden arrived and found a window had been smashed and money from the collection was missing. It is thought that the thief hid inside the church, waiting until the festival-goers had left. A man seen acting suspiciously around the collection pots during the festival is described as white, in his early 30s, around 5ft 9in tall and he had short brown hair.
Call police on 101.
