As a new tax year starts today, many residents could see big changes to their cost of living.
Many household bills will be rising as energy companies and local authorities are raising their prices in what some are calling Price Hike Day. Here are 11 things you will be paying more for.
5. State pension top-ups
The amount of money people pay into workplace pensions will rise from 3 per cent to 5 per cent under auto-enrolment rules.
First Class stamps will now cost 70p and Second Class stamps will cost 61p - an increase of 3p in both cases. These increases will come into effect on March 25.
7. Car tax
Some drivers will be paying 65 more car tax from April 6 after changes to the Vehicle Excise Duty but most will be paying just 5 more each year.
8. TV licence
The TV licence fee will rise to 154.50 - a 4 increase on last year. It will now cost 2.97 a week or 12.87 a month.
