A financial controller was warned she could face jail after she admitted stealing thousands of pounds from her employer.
Samantha Laing, who worked for Loven Patents and Trademarks, pleaded guilty to fraud by abuse of position by transferring company money into her own account between July and December 2013.
She also pleaded guilty to theft of £4,100 from the company between December 2013 and March 2014.
Recorder Graham Huston adjourned the case for a probation report.
He said: “Whilst I will not be the sentencing judge the contents of that report will be critical to the decision the judge has to take.”
“In adjourning your case for sentence I’m not giving any indication as to what the sentence will be. All options remain open including an immediate custodial sentence.”
Laing, 36, of High Street, Newton-on-Trent, was granted bail to appear back before the Crown Court later this month.
