The rare, silk standard of the former Misterton and District branch of the British Legion (before ‘Royal’ was added to the title) will be laid up in a short ceremony at All Saints’ Church on Saturday 25th January at 11am. Everyone is invited to attend, especially those interested in the history of the Legion, who may have had connections with the Misterton and District branch, or is a serving or former member of HM Forces.
Every Branch of the Royal British Legion (RBL) has its own standard. They are carried by standard bearers on parade at any event where the Legion is present. When a RBL Branch closes the standard is placed in the care of the local church at a special ceremony.
