New Retford base planned for food bank
Bassetlaw Food Bank’s Retford base will be moving into new premises in the town centre this spring and organisers are looking for volunteers to help in the shop in Exchange Street, which Bassetlaw District Council has made available at favourable terms. Application forms for volunteers are available at The Misterton Centre or from Dist Coun Hazel Brand. So far, 188 bags of provisions have gone from four local villages. Now the food bank urgently needs tinned potatoes and vegetables, instant mash, tinned curry, stew, chilli etc, long-life milk, sugar, tinned rice pudding, and pasta sauces. Leave your donations in Misterton or West Stockwith churches or the Cycle Barn on Grovewood Road.
Building development sites in Bassetlaw
There are no planned developments in Misterton and West Stockwith, but Bassetlaw District Council is making its Site Allocations document available to local residents to see where housing and employment sites are proposed. The document is available in The Misterton Centre and Misterton Library. The council’s consultation period begins on Monday 3rd February and ends on 31st March.
