A new scheme that provides information to the emergency services should they be called to a resident’s home is now available. The Bottle in the Fridge is a simple plastic container that is put in the fridge – emergency services are trained to look there for the bottle - and it contains details of the patient, illnesses and allergies, contact details of the next of kin, and details of carer or health visitor. A limited number of packs are available at The Misterton Centre – just call in during opening hours. Also included is a sticker for the front door and fridge door.

Murder Most Foul

Murder will be committed in West Stockwith on Friday 28th February when guests will put their heads together to find out who dunnit! The murder mystery evening is in the Gertrude Morris Hall at 7pm. Tickets are £7 each and include a pie and peas supper. Bring your own drinks. Tickets are available from Auriol (tel: 891488).

Resource for older people

A resource for older people is open every Thursday from 10am to 3pm in the Butter Market at Retford Town Hall. The aim of the resource centre is to promote the independence of older people in the Retford area. This is done by providing links to local services that can help them remain safe while living in their own homes. The centre also gives people the opportunity to socialise and take part in a wide range of activities. Home-cooked meals are available from noon until 1pm. Newspapers and magazines are also available. They also have a craft group offering a range of craft activities from 10am and seated exercise is available on alternate Thursdays. For more information contact Dave Bacon on 01777 709650 or e-mail: dbacon@bassetlawactioncentre.org.uk. The Misterton Centre is in partnership with BAC so call in there for further details.
