A hospice in Doncaster is thanking residents who have helped to raise more than £2,000 by buying raffle tickets.
Volunteers and staff who work at the St John’s Hospice in Balby sold the tickets in the run up to Christmas – and it was a huge success raising £2,191.
Chris Smith, fundraiser for the hospice, said: “I want to thank everyone who bought a ticket and to the companies who donated prizes.
“I also want to thank the hospice staff and volunteers and the staff who work at RDaSH who also sold tickets for us. This is a fantastic amount raised for the St John’s Hospice Appeal Charitable Fund.”

The hospice is run by Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) and was initially built and equipped from funds raised by Doncaster Cancer Detection Trust.
The inpatient unit has ten fully refurbished single bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, each with private access to garden. There is also the facility to convert two of these single rooms into double occupancy.
