IMPROVEMENTS are set to be made at NHS health facilities in Gainsborough in the New Year - including some at John Coupland Hospital.
The coming months will see work carried out at the local hospital and at Gainsborough Health Clinic, in a bid to improve standards for patients.
The Surgical Day Unit at John Coupland Hospital will be getting a ‘makeover’ including new toilet facilities, flooring and double-glazed window units. In addition, clinical treatment rooms in Outpatients will have new flooring and the waiting room and reception area in the Minor Injuries Unit will also be improved.
Not only that, but Gainsborough Health Clinic will benefit from a redesigned main entrance and reception area, which will make for a more welcoming and open environment for patients and staff. Improvements will also be made to clinical treatment rooms and toilet facilities.
Senior facilities manager for NHS Lincolnshire Bruce Mulraney said: “We are pleased to be carrying out these improvements.”
“By ensuring that our facilities offer a bright, clean and comfortable environment, we hope patients will have the best possible experience when they visit NHS Lincolnshire premises.”
The improvement works are planned to start in the New Year.
An NHS spokesman added: “Any disruption caused as a result will be kept to a minimum and patients will be kept fully informed throughout.”
Local residents have been calling for improvements in healthcare, especially as the town is set to double in size in the next 20 years.
