What do you do if you have a spare 10 minutes, sit down and relax?
Instead, why not choose to do microvolunteering?
You can donate a few minutes to do a small task which could have a big impact on others.
If everyone contributed 10 minutes today, think what you could get done.
It perfectly sums up the saying ‘many hands make light work’, and proves that you could help to complete a task in such a short amount of time.
Roles vary from playing games to identifying features on Mars!
However, you do not have to be an expert to get involved as the tasks are accessible for all capabilities.
This project started in 2014 and has grown rapidly in interest as more and more people are getting involved.
The purpose of the day is to alert people about the difference they could make from the comfort of their own home just by using the internet.
It is quick and easy, you can volunteer at any time, it requires no further commitment and you can even stay in your pyjamas!
April 15 every year is Microvolunteering Day, but you can start microvolunteering at any time.
Simply visit www.helpfromhome.org where there are more than 800 actions for you to choose from.
Or you can get involved by contacting West Lindsey Voluntary Services on 01427 613470, visit www.voluntarycentreservices.org.uk, drop in to the Volunteer Centre in Marshall’s Yard or email firstname.lastname@example.org where we can advise you on local opportunities or other volunteering opportunities in your area.
To raise awareness of this initiative why not share your contributions by posting about them on social media using the hashtag #MicroDay and encourage others to take part.
