A SERIAL groper who grabbed three women by the bottom after cycling up behind them has been ordered to register as a sex offender for seven years.
Carl Dawson, 25, targeted his lone victims on different days as he rode his bike around Gainsborough, Lincoln Crown Court heard.
Dawson was also ejected from the town’s Morrison’s supermarket after a fourth woman complained of being grabbed on the bottom as she did her shopping.
Jon Dee, prosecuting, said the 16-year-old was walking along Morton Road in Gainsborough when she noticed a cyclist repeatedly riding past and “looking at her.”
“On the third occasion Dawson came up behind, stared and grabbed her bottom,” Mr Dee added. Dawson aimed sexual remarks at the girl before cycling off.
Dawson’s next victim was a 25-year-old mother who was again groped from behind as she returned from the morning school run, an assault he repeated six weeks later this time on a 20-year-old young mum. In between the final two attacks a 45-year-old woman reported being grabbed on the bottom by Dawson as she did her supermarket shopping.
Mr Dee told the court: “The 16-year-old was very concerned by what happened and is now wary of walking in that area but all four of his victims were upset.”
Dawson, of Adelaide Close, Gainsborough admitted four charges of sexual assault between 2nd February and 9th May this year, claiming he had “done it for a laugh.”
He was sentenced to six months imprisonment suspended for two years, placed under supervision of probation for two years, told to register as a sex offender for seven years and ordered to complete 170 hours unpaid work.
