Thirty-one members attended the meeting of Gringley WI on Wednesday 4th November. The speaker for the evening was Jean Townsend and her talk entitled Champagne and Oysters was about the lives of Edward and Alexandra. Jean kept members spellbound with her interesting historical snippets from this era of history. The talk was illustrated with photographs which Jean had gathered while researching this era of history. As usual, Jean impressed everyone with her knowledge of the Royal Family and a thoroughly enjoyable evening was had by all.
As this was the final meeting before the festive season, wine and mince pies were served after the talk.
