Applications for the fifth annual Gainsborough Business Awards will be closing soon and all businesses within a 10 mile radius of Gainsborough have been urged to enter.
Danielle Lister from the events organisers, Langleys Solicitors LLP, said: “There are eight different categories of awards meaning that there is an appropriate award for all businesses in the Gainsborough Area.”
“The award categories have been designed to celebrate businesses but also individuals within a business.”
“These categories include the Business of the Year, which is our top award; Small Business of the Year, for any business with less than 25 employees; Business Person of the Year which is open to employees of all levels; Apprentice of the Year, a new award for 2014; Best New Business, which is open to all businesses less than three years old; Best Use of Innovation and Technology, which as well as products covers processes or ideas; Outstanding Contribution to the Community, which is open to businesses, charities, other organisations (such as schools and community groups) and individuals and Best Customer Service, which is nominated by members of the public.”
Danielle said that businesses should not feel constrained to only one category,
She added: “Businesses should not feel put off applying for multiple awards.”
“There are a lot of Gainsborough businesses who want to celebrate their success in multiple areas and we encourage that.”
Danielle also encouraged businesses from outside Gainsborough itself to apply for the awards.
She said: “Although the Gainsborough Business Awards are focused on the achievements of Gainsborough any business within a 10 mile radius is eligible for the awards, meaning businesses in Retford, Kirton in Lindsey, Torksey, Epworth, Torksey or Caenby Corner to name a few are also eligible.”
The deadline for applications is Friday 15th August so there is still time to submit your application.
Danielle said: “We understand that operating a business is not easy and a lot of business owners will not have the time to spend completing lengthy application forms.”
2That is why we have made the process as simple as possible, businesses can put as little or as much information as they think is necessary in the application.”
“Speaking to some previous winners they have said that their application took less than a hour to complete.”
The winners of the awards will be announced at a black-tie evening held at the White Heather near Caenby Corner on 18th September.
