Students from Gainsborough Academy attended Hilcrest Academy for a day as part of World Hello Day.

The Gainsborough students encouraged and supported the primary school pupils to say hello in many different languages.

The primary school pupils were presented with a range of continental biscuits made and prepared by Gainsborough students.

These included Russian spiced biscuits, Polish sugar biscuit, Linz biscuits from the Czech Republic, Turkish coconut biscuits and Lithuanian Lazy bones cakes.

All we sampled by students and staff from both schools.

“The most popular was the lazy bones cake as that was the only one with chocolate on it,” said Lesley Rollings, community development and liaison manager at the Academy.

“This was followed closely by the Linz biscuit, which was a Jammy dodger look-alike.”
